Sunflower Oil Processing Method and Process

Sunflower oil can be extracted by various methods, among which the most widely used sunflower oil production methods are mechanical pressing and solvent extraction. Generally, mechanical pressing is usually adopted by small or medium scale oil mill plant, while the solvent extraction is used in large scale cooking oil manufacturing plant. • Sunflower Seeds Pretreatment Process

This is the basic process before starting sunflower oil extraction process. The cleaning machines is mainly used to remove the hulls and impurities contained in sunflower seeds. And the cooking machine and flaking machine are used to control the moisture, temperature and size of the sunflower seeds so as to obtain higher oil output. • Sunflower Oil Pre-pressing and Solvent Extraction Process

By using oil press machine, the main oil contained in the sunflower seeds are extracted out and the sunflower oil cake are obtained. But, sunflower oil cake still contain high oil content. In order to get higher oil yield, solvent extraction machine is used to get the residual oil from oil cake. After solvent extraction, the residual oil rate in sunflower cake is less than 1%.

• Sunflower Oil Refining Process

The oil refining process for sunflower oil processing plant includes degumming, neutralization, bleaching, deodorization and so on.
